About this Job

Reporting to the Employment & Training Officer and working closely with the all staff in the Human Resources and Community Training Department, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating Career Exploration Week in Dawson City. The goal of the event will be to partner with business and industry to raise awareness of employment prospects in the Yukon, and to allow all community members including secondary school students to obtain first-hand information on various fields of work. Week long activities will include the publishing of an Educational Achievement Book, an Exhibitor Welcome event, Job Fair including Exhibits, Workshop / Keynote presentations, Community Members and School Children attendance organization, and Job Shadowing.


• Minimum grade 12 education, supplemented by some college coursework

• Experience in planning and organizing events and/or activities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills


• Knowledge of Yukon’s labour market and career-related programs and resources

• Experience in marketing events to the public
