About this Job
Responsible for the creation of high quality dishes with confidence to be able to work independently. At the same time must be a socialable chef who has fun cooking and enjoys working in a team with different nationalites. Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods in a timely, accurate and professional manner including complete meals and individual dishes including sauces, soups and desserts. Be fully knowledgeable and competent in the safe and correct use of all kitchen equipment. Perform to standards specified by the Executive Chef. May be requested to assist in the recording and ordering of food supplies and departmental orientation and on-the-job training.
Working conditions may include hotel indoor, outdoor and offsite locations. Shifts include long periods of time standing and carrying heavy food trays. Temperature of working environment may vary from cool refrigerations units to hot dishing and cooking equipment. Work hours can include holidays, weekends, evenings and possible split shifts according to fluctuating business levels. 3+ years commercial culinary experience and/or culinary certificate/journeyperson cooks' licence preferred.
