Yukon Zinc Corporation is seeking an experienced Mill General Foreman at its Wolverine Mine in the southeast Yukon Territory.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, the Mill General Foreman is responsible for the safe effective operation and maintenance of the processing plant. More specific duties and responsibilities include:

- Lead and promote a zero incident culture for safety and environmental stewardship.

- Provide positive leadership, development and direction to the mill department team.

- Plan and direct the operations of the processing plant, including plant maintenance.

- Work closely and cooperatively with mill metallurgical staff to develop and implement strategies for controlling, optimizing, and improving the mill operation.

- Prepare production and other written reports including month end reports as required.

- Apply effective cost control measures and provide input to the annual mill operating budget.

- Reporting to this position are mill operation supervisors, training coordinators and maintenance supervisors.

Requirements

- Minimum 10 years experience in mineral processing operations, at least 5 years of which have been in progressively responsible supervisory roles.

- Experience in copper, lead, zinc processing, using column flotation and SMD regrinding considered an asset.

- Demonstrated record of safety leadership and environmental stewardship.

- Proficient in Word, Excel, Email.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Able to work a rotational work schedule of 2 weeks in x 2 weeks out

- Consent to a pre-employment medical examination which includes a drug & alcohol screening

Wolverine is a “dry camp”, fly-in/fly-out underground mine operation. The minesite is located midway between Ross River and Watson Lake on the Robert Campbell Highway and is approximately 280 km by air northeast of Whitehorse.
