Skill Requirements:
Education: At least High School /vocational or technical training credentials (certificates, licenses, courses).
Experience: 2+ years of related trades experience in environment.
Languages: Speak, Read and Write English.
Type of Establishment: Construction.
Major Work Area: Construction, Maintenance, Repair and New Fabrication.
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication, Machinery or equipment repair.
Welding Techniques: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), (NCI, NCII)
Welding positions: All position (6G).
Type of Machine experience: Arc Welding machines.
Materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals.
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, safety harness, gloves, Face shield, Welding helmet.
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lb.) repetitively.
Work site environment: Outdoor site.
Essential skills: Numeracy, Problem solving, Decision making
Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Hand-eye coordination, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to work with exposure to elements.
Additional Skills: Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawing specifications, manual and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specification. Capable of working with minimal supervision. Electrical background and fitting skills an asset.
