Yukon Zinc Corporation has an immediate need for an experienced Journeyman Electrician

at its Wolverine Mine in the southeast Yukon Territory.

- Charter flights direct to site from Whitehorse, Vancouver and Prince George...currently with

pick up points in Campbell River, Smithers, Terrace, Watson Lake and Ross River.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor our electricians will play a key role on

the site E & I team for ensuring safe, efficient and effective operations of all electrical

components. More specific responsibilities include:

- Perform ongoing preventative maintenance functions as a member of the E & I

maintenance team.

- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install electrical equipment, electronic control

systems and other related devices.

- Assist in the development of safe work and operating procedures for electrical

equipment and systems.

- Work closely with the Underground Management and contractor to schedule and

perform routine maintenance.

- Provide assistance to surface and underground electrical maintenance personnel.

- Maintain, repair, install and test underground electrical equipment components.

- May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.

Requirements:

- Trade qualification as a Journeyman Electrician - Inter provincial (Red Seal) preferred.

- Minimum 3-years experience in an underground mine setting

- Excellent work ethic and demonstrated record of safety leadership.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook Express).

- Consent to a pre-employment medical examination which includes a drug & alcohol

screening

Preference will be given to candidates:

- Previous experience in mine surface and underground electrical construction and

maintenance.

- Past experience working in remote camp locations (Northern climate) preferable.

Wolverine is a “dry camp”, fly-in/fly-out underground mine operation. The minesite is located

midway between Ross River and Watson Lake on the Robert Campbell Highway and is

approximately 280 km by air northeast of Whitehorse.
