Financial Assistant – Billing & Accounts Receivable at Yukon Hospital Corporation in Whitehorse

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, the incumbent is responsible for the full range of accounts receivable functions of the Yukon Hospital Corporation and the Yukon Hospital Foundation. This position interacts with all departments in preparation of billing requests and invoicing for services rendered and is responsible for the issuing all charitable tax receipts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Excellent knowledge of Accounting/Bookkeeping practices and procedures, along with basic knowledge of accounting theory

• Excellent knowledge of financial practices and procedures

• Good knowledge of computer accounting systems

• Good knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Suites)

• Good oral and written communication skills

• Ability to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to prioritize workload

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to work in a cross – cultural environment

The successful candidate will have an Accounting/Bookkeeping Certificate or Diploma (1-2 years) and/or two years working experience. Knowledge of Medical Policies, Meditech, YHC Acts, Regulations, Policies and procedures would be considered desirable.
