We are currently accepting resumes for four (4) permanent, part time Community Service Technicians in:
• Old Crow, YT. (20 hrs./week)
• Pond Inlet, NU. (20 hrs./week)
• Kugluktuk, NU. (10 hrs./week)
• Resolute Bay, NU. (10 hrs./week)
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE in your community by providing an essential service and solving problems. Do you like working independently, climbing poles, working with wires and outside? Do you have your own transportation and a valid drivers license?
WE WILL TRAIN YOU to install or replace telephone jacks and outside service drop wires. Not only will we provide training, but you will also receive a competitive wage and vehicle expense allowance.
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU if you have a minimum of a Grade 10 education with good reading and writing skills, and your own transportation (vehicle, ski-doo, or 4-wheeler), you can be trained to be a Community Service Technician. You must follow all safety practices, and be able to travel for training.
Duties
• Installs and maintains telephone jacks and outside wiring.
• Ensures Installation and repairs are completed in a timely manner to meet customer needs and requirements.
• Install, maintain and collect coins from payphones.
• Connect telephone lines in local exchanges and servicing high speed data circuits.
• Ability to work with other technicians when they are in the community.
• Ability to work with remote assistance to help resolve Central Office Issues and alarms.
• Maintain a clean and safe working site and follow safety practices.
Qualifications
• Minimum of Grade 10 education with reading and writing skills.
• Must have own transportation (skidoo, 4 wheeler, truck).
• Must be physically capable of performing the job duties (climbing poles, working on ladders, outdoors).
• Must be able to travel for training.
Compensation
The range of pay is $23.10- $30.05, based on related experience.
