Reporting to the Director Natural Resources, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the prioritization, organization, and delivery of the administrative services and tasks associated with the overall functioning of the Natural Resources Department. Overall direction will be provided by the Director of Natural Resources with day to day direction and task assignment provided through the Managers, Fish and Wildlife and Land and Resources. The position will be accountable to efficiently carry out the necessary administrative functions for the department and provide quality government services to Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Citizens.

• Completion of Grade 10 supplemented by courses in office administration, computer courses or one year equivalent knowledge and experience;

• Knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in social structure, culture and traditional knowledge;

• Knowledge of First Nation Government systems;

• Excellent knowledge and experience with computers and related software e.g. MS Outlook, Word, with exposure to Excel.

• Sound problem solving skills in relation to this position;

• Good organizational and time management skills within position,

• Good communications skills, both written and oral, including presentation skills;

• Ability to work effectively as a team player;

• Ability to establish and maintain positive professional working relationships with staff, citizens, and the general public;

• Self-motivated and reliable;

• Ability to work independently;


• Knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Land Claims Agreements and Constitution;

• Class 5 Drivers License

• Standard First Aid

• Drivers Abstract
