The Yukon Council on disABILITY (YCOD) is offering a Work Experience through the Government of Canada's Opportunities Fund Program for an Administrative Assistant. This position is for 20 hours per week for a term of 24 weeks.

The Administrative Assistant under the supervision of YCOD will provide support to the Whitehorse Inter Agency Committee that oversees the Yukon Disability Employment Strategy.

To be considered for the position, candidates must meet the requirements of the Opportunities Fund program, including: self identify as a person with a disability, be currently unemployed (or working less than 20 hours per week) and not be eligible for EI. Please note your eligibility for this program in your cover letter. This work experience will be part of a Return to Work Action Plan, requiring case management that will provide an opportunity to develop skills and/or re-enter the workforce.

Desired skills: Proficient in computer applications including: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, excellent inter personal and organization skills, able to work effectively under tight deadlines, able to work as part of a team, honest and reliable.

Duties will include: compiling and managing a data base, letter writing, answering phones and following up with phone and email messages, maintaining records, assisting with the coordination of events and meetings, taking and disseminating minutes. Expected start date: February 28, 2014

Salary: $18.00/hr
