L4 Level - $45,792 to $65,176 per annum based on 70 hours bi-weekly

Overview:

Under the direction of the HR Capacity Director, the HR and Capacity Officer is responsible for coordinating and administering a variety of programs to ensure adult citizens of KFN have access to timely and appropriate Education and Training throughout their lives, as well as for providing human resource assistance in the recruitment, training and development of KFN staff.

Accountabilities/Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills (incl. spelling and grammar).

• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

• Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.

• Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required.

• Excellent time and project management skills.

• Ability to research and plan short, medium and long term community and individual training opportunities and strategies.

• Thorough understanding of INAC post secondary funding policies and post secondary funding opportunities. Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

• Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures

• Motivated individual with proven initiative.

• Professional appearance and manners.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree or post secondary diploma in Human Resources, Education, Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Work experience in HR, Training or Education.

Experience working in First Nations governments preferred.

Conditions of Employment:

Valid Class 5 Yukon Driver’s Licence or willingness and ability to obtain. Criminal Records Check.
