Pelly Crossing is situated in a beautiful valley, with the Klondike Highway and Pelly River running through it. Centrally located between Dawson City and Whitehorse, the community of 320 persons is the home of the Selkirk First Nation.
Yukon College’s Pelly Crossing Campus is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Instructor/Coordinator to provide instruction in Academic Upgrading/College Access (including Math, English and GED), employment readiness programs, and a variety of community-based courses. The successful candidate will also liaise and partner extensively with the local public, government and business communities, conduct training needs analyses, develop and present proposals, plan, coordinate and promote the campus’s programs and operations, and assist in the development of unique and specialized training.
We are looking for a multi-skilled individual with an undergraduate degree in a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred) and experience in: community education/development (especially in the rural North), working with First Nation organizations and agencies, and teaching adult learners. Candidates with an acceptable combination of education and extensive community development experience may also be considered.
