Job Description/Duties:
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources & Community Training, this position provides a range of human resources functions, including the recruitment of permanent, term, auxiliary and casual employees; assisting with staff training and development, staff relations; as well as assists and guides management and employees on personnel issues. The incumbent is responsible for information processing and records management of the department, and will also assist in the development of policies, training plans, and career planning for employees & education training for citizens.

Essential: • Grade 12 (or equivalency) supplemented with courses and/or work experience in Human Resource Management and Office Administration; • Demonstrated knowledge of TH’s history, culture, demographics, goals and aspirations; • Good knowledge of TH Personnel policies and procedures; • Good knowledge of Labour Standards and Human Rights Acts, legislation, and regulations; • Experience in researching and analyzing information and data; • Relevant experience in staff recruitment, hiring, training and retention practices; • Strong computer skills; • Ability to be tactful, respectful, have sound judgment, establish and maintain positive working relationships; • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, in writing and in body; • Ability to be sensitive and understanding of TH traditions and values; • Ability to work cooperatively as part of the HR team and independently and take initiative; • Ability to provide appropriate advice and guidance, make recommendations and presentations; • Relevant work experience in staff recruitment, hiring, training and retention practices; • Strong Organization and time management skills; • Ability to regularly meet deadlines and effectively manage heavy workload within established priorities; • Exceptional interpersonal skills an Asset; • Conflict management and dispute resolution and problem solving abilities; • Knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in history, culture, demographics, goals and aspirations; • Good knowledge of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in personnel policies and procedures; • Ability to prepare reports from compiled data. >>> CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: • Mandatory confidentiality is a condition of employment for all TH personnel; • Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
