Job Description/Duties:
Reporting to the Executive Director, this position is responsible for managing the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in (TH) Kindergarten to Grade 12 education programs and services by engaging with the Federal and Territorial Education Departments and ensuring TH representation in Robert Service School through the Community Education Liaison Coordinators (CELCs). The position will also be responsible for assisting in the development of negotiation strategies relevant to Section 17 of the TH Self Government Agreement (THSGA), providing advice and recommendations to the Education Committee and TH School Council Representatives (THSCR), as well as assisting in developing and providing recommendations regarding all education policy requirements. The position will be required to assist in providing reports and recommendations to the Executive Director, Education Committee, THSCR and Chief and Council on Education related issues.

ESSENTIAL:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Education related discipline or minimum two years work related experience in education field combined with some related course work;
- Knowledge of and experience working with First Nations government;
- Knowledge of and experience working with other governments with respect to education programming and funding agencies;
- Knowledge and understanding of TH history, culture and traditions;
- Relevant experience in research and analysis;
- Relevant experience in program planning and development;
- Relevant experience in resolving conflicts;
- Knowledge and understanding of the THSGA, TH Final Agreement and TH Implementation Plans;
- Relevant experience using a computer and associated software;
- Experience working with MS Word, MS Excel and internet;
- Good Financial Skills;
- Good Interpersonal, Writing and Verbal Skills.

- Experience with MS Access and MS PowerPoint;
- Valid Driver’s Class 5 License;
- Supervisory experience.
